CREATIVE LEADS
Rob King is a new media artist, visualist, programmer and researcher based in Toronto. He has an MA from the Communications and Culture joint graduate program at Ryerson and York Universities and a BFA in Image Arts: New Media from Ryerson University. His work explores digital interactivity, artistic game play, ludology, the social dynamics of networked spaces, the potentials of mobile and ubiquitous computing and dynamic and generative processes. Rob is currently the head of Addi.tv Art+Code.
Michael Longford is a designer and co-director of the Mobile Media Lab (MML) at York University, which is made up of an interdisciplinary research team exploring wireless communications, rich media content development for mobile technologies, and locative media practices. He is co-editor of the recent publication, The Wireless Spectrum: The Politics, Practices and Poetics of Mobile Media (2010). He has organized numerous workshops, artist talks, exhibitions and conferences devoted to design and new media.
Geoffrey Shea is a Media Artist, musician and Co-Director of the Mobile Experience Lab at OCAD University. Shea’s artwork presents idiosyncratic video images and interactive installations laced with fragments of language and stripped down technology. Research in his lab focuses on mobile and locative cultural content delivery and the creation of new wireless hardware and software platforms. Shea's large-scale sound and video projections have been recently featured at the Vancouver Winter Olympics and Nuit Blanche in Toronto.
